<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric water heater capable of heating and heat- retaining only a necessary quantity of water in a water heating container, and dispensing with the attention to hot water or steam when supplying water. <P>SOLUTION: This electric water heater has the water heating container 1, a water storage tank 20 attached thereto, a water supplying passage 21 for supplying water from the storage tank 20 to the water heating container 1, and a feed water receiver 27 for supplying water to the water supplying passage 21. The feed water receiver 27 has an overflow part 27a and a pumping passage 24 for pumping the water 2 in the water storage tank 20 to the feed water receiver 27, and the outlet of the pumping passage 24 is opened to the atmosphere. According to such a structure, when a prescribed quantity or more of water is supplied, excessive water flows from the overflow part 27a of the feed water receiver 27 into the water storage tank 20 to prevent the overflow to the outside of the water heater. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
