PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stirring apparatus which can evenly stir fluids and carry out various stirring modes for fluids responding to the fluids and tanks. SOLUTION: The stirring apparatus is equipped with a gear box 1 which rotates on a self-axis reciprocally in opposite directions in a prescribed range of an angle, stirring members 2 and 3 installed in both side faces of the gear box 1 in a manner rotatable on self-axes, motors 4 and 5 for driving the gear box 1 and the stirring members 2, 3, and joint mechanisms 6, 7, and 8 for joining the gear box 1 and the stirring members 2 and 3 to the motors 4 and 5 in rotation transmissive manner. The stirring members 2 and 3 are swung back and forth around a base point of the gear box 1 following the rotation of the gear box 1 on the self-axis in the opposite directions, and at the same time the stirring members 2 and 3 move forward while half-rotating on the self-axes at the time of swinging and move backward while keeping horizontal state in the swinging direction.
