PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothes-drying pole base with which one can adjust the height and direction of branched poles by allowing two pipes having different height to be extended and shortened independently. SOLUTION: This clothes-drying pole base has a long first pole 1 and a short second pole 2 both of which have branched poles 5 holding clothes-drying poles on their tops and are stood close from each other and parallel with each other. The first pole 1 comprises a first outer cylinder 1a in the lower position and a first inner cylinder 1b, which is inserted into the first outer cylinder 1a allowing its rotation and vertical movement, in the upper position. The second pole 2 comprises a second outer cylinder 2a in the lower position and a second inner cylinder 2b, which is inserted into the second outer cylinder 2a allowing its vertical movement, in the upper position. A first lock part 4a which stops the rotation and the vertical movement of the first inner cylinder 1b and a second lock part 4b which stops the vertical movement of the second inner cylinder 2b are provided.
