<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain even a trouble of causing a difference in an exhaust emission control characteristic of each of exhaust emission passages in correspondence with a difference of constitution between the exhaust emission passages or between routes to supply secondary air. <P>SOLUTION: This catalyst warming control device of an internal combustion engine is applied to the internal combustion engine 1 having a plurality of the exhaust emission passages 2F, 2R containing catalysts 4, 4 and promotes the warming of the catalysts by supplying the secondary air to the upstream of the catalysts of each of the exhaust emission passages from a common air pump 11. The supplying state of the secondary air or exhaust emission to each of the exhaust emission passages 2F, 2R is discriminated between the exhaust emission passages so as to correct the difference of the exhaust emission control characteristic between the exhaust emission passages estimated in accordance with the difference of constitution existing between the exhaust emission passages 2F, 2R or between a plurality of the secondary air passages 13F, 13R branched to supply the secondary air to each of a plurality of the exhaust emission passages. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
