PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device or back light device which generates little noise and is suitably made thin.

SOLUTION: The back light device which has a linear light source 6 arranged in a box-shaped case having an opening part on its top surface and also has a diffusion plate 7 arranged covering the top surface opening part is characterized in that a 1st conductive film 71 is formed on the diffusion plate 7 to cover its one surface, 2nd insulation films 72 for making the light distribution of the light source 6 uniform are formed in a belt-shape on the 1st film 71 along the length of the light source, and ends of the 2nd beltlike films 74 are ended before an edge of the 1st film so that the 1st film 71 is exposed at the ends of the 2nd beltlike films 74.
