The liquid resin (3) spread directly onto the upper horizontal surface of the support belt (2). The belt is mounted for longitudinal translation. Each transverse section is passed successively in cycles through the processing stations. The belt is alternately driven and stopped at intervals by a drive system (10, 53, 72). Photopolymerization occurs when the belt is stationary and immediately below the negative print masking film (34) under the light source (30). Characters on the negative, occupy a region slightly less than the cyclic displacement of the belt. The processing system includes an air-blast device which recovers non-polymerized resin. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding manufacturing line for the printing belt.
