SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR WIND POWER GENERATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently control a generator without the use of a speed sensor for the enhancement of reliability and the reduction of a cost.

SOLUTION: A wind turbine output computing portion 201 computes generator torque Tgenfrom an estimated speed value ω#hat detected by a speed detector 7 and generator power Pgencomputed by a power computing unit 19. A wind power and speed estimator 202 computes a wind speed Vwindfrom the generator torque Tgenand the estimated speed value ω#hat. A maximum efficiency operation controller 203 computes a generator speed command Wgen*from the wind speed Vwind. A generator speed controller 204 and a current command computing unit 206 compute current commands iγ*and iδ*supplied to the generator to operate the generator based on the generator speed command Wgen*computed by the maximum efficiency operation controller 203. The generator is controlled according to the current commands iγ*and iδ*, and power is thereby efficiently generated.
