<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple beam optical head capable of improving the quality of signal detection by eliminating the effects of crosstalk light by an adjacent photodetector. <P>SOLUTION: Two laser light sources 11a, 11b are arranged to make emitted beams orthogonal to each other, beam splitters (BS) 12a, 12b are disposed in the beam emission directions of the laser light sources 11a, 11b, a 1/2 wavelength plate 13 is disposed to rotate the linear polarization direction of a beam emitted from one laser light source 11b and a reflected light from a recording medium 120 by 90 degrees. A polarizing beam splitter (PBS) 14 is arranged on a position at which the beams of the laser light sources 11a, 11b cross each other, and a 1/4 wavelength plate 15 is disposed to make a beam synthesized by the PBS 12 a circularly polarized light and the light reflected from the recording medium 120 a linearly polarized light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
