PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of photographing at any time irrespective of the capacity of a recording medium without user consciousness to a residual capacity of the recording medium, and capable of recording, displaying and replaying a most up-to-date photographed image. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with an imaging means for photographing an object, a most up-to-date image recording medium for recording image information photographed by the imaging means at a most recent time, and a record control means for overwriting and retaining the image information when an image is photographed by the imaging means on the most up-to-date image recording medium.
