DEVICE AND METHOD FOR LOCKING TRAY IN DISK DRIVER

PURPOSE: A device and a method for locking a tray in a disk driver are provided to prevent damage of a tray due to carelessness of a user, and reduce power consumption of a disk driver by cutting off power supplied to a loading motor in a tray locking mode. CONSTITUTION: A loading motor(103) is driven to let a tray go into and out of a disk driver. A power supply unit(104) supplies power to the loading motor. A controller(105) controls the power supply unit to cut off power supplied to the loading motor if a tray locking command is inputted. A memory(106) is controlled by the controller to store information representing a locked state of the tray if a disk driver power-off requesting signal is inputted. A display unit(107) displays the information representing a locked state of the tray.
