摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add additional information to an advertisement without allowing space in which the advertisement is inserted, and meanwhile, to use the information to measure the effectiveness of the advertisement. <P>SOLUTION: In an image included in the advertisement inserted in the printed matter, document location information indicating the location of a document on a network is embedded as an electronic watermark. The document includes detailed information on the advertisement. The watermark is decoded with a terminal TR used by a reader R. The terminal TR gets access to an information providing device SC on the basis of the document location information included in the decoded information, and receives the document from the information providing device SC.
