<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the curing properties of a cationic polymerization-based ink in a state where temperature increase of a recording medium itself is minimized. <P>SOLUTION: An ink-jet printer 100 discharges an ink which contains a cationic polymerizable component and is cured by the irradiation of light (including ultraviolet light, the same below) on a recording medium 99 to record a desired image on the recording medium 99. The ink-jet printer 100 comprises a recording head 2 for discharging the ink on the recording medium 99, a light irradiation part (not shown) for irradiating the ink reached the recording medium 99 with light, a humidity detection part 5 for detecting the humidity in the vicinity of the ink reached the recording medium 99, and a control part (not shown) for controlling the degree of illumination of the light irradiated from the light irradiation part based on the detected humidity detected by the humidity detection part 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
