PURPOSE: A fishing reel is provided to mainly maintain the outer contour of the reeled fishline straight. CONSTITUTION: The fishing reel(1) includes: a spool(8), winding a fishing line(7); an electromotive device, driving the spool(8) so that the latter is moved back and forth in the direction of a longitudinal axis(19); and a crank, driving the electromotive device so as to reel in the fishing line on the spool(8). The electromotive device has at least one oval wheel and includes a first wheel(10), driven by the crank, and a second wheel(11), connected with the first wheel(10) so as to be applied by the driving force of the latter(10). A projection(14) is formed on the second wheel(11) and inserted into a slot(15) on a guide member(16) which is arranged on the central axis(18), connected to the spool(8).
