PURPOSE: A phone set is provided to allow a user to easily use by recognizing a phone number according to the number of user's contacts and contact intervals and dialing the recognized phone number. CONSTITUTION: A user input unit(50) generates a pulse signal corresponding to user's contact and outputs it to a count dial module(60). The count dial module(60) generates a dial signal on the basis of the pulse signal and transmits it to a controller(10). Namely, the count dial module(60) counts the number of pulse signals as generated successively within a certain reference time interval according to user's contact and recognizes it as a number, and counts a pulse signal generated exceeding the reference time to recognize a new number, and generates a dial signal. A memory(20) stores information on the reference time, and the controller(10) controls the count dial module(60) to generate the dial signal on the basis of the reference signal. A reference signal generator(61) generates a reference signal. A reference signal modulator(62) modulates the reference signal according to the pulse signal. A dial signal generator(63) detects the number of pulse signals as generated and a generation interval according to a reference signal-modulated pattern and generates the dial signal.
