PURPOSE: A braking system and a method of a vehicle are provided to prevent risks of accidents generated in the traveling of the vehicle by cutting off power supplied to a magnetic valve when a driver carelessly operates a lock brake switch with operating a relay by the breakdown of a parking switch. CONSTITUTION: A braking system of a vehicle having a parking switch(101), a relay(102), a lock brake switch(104), and a magnetic valve(106) is composed of an engine control unit(109) for outputting a signal to cut off power supplied through the lock brake switch to the magnetic valve when the lock brake switch is turned on with supplying power by the breakdown of the relay or the parking switch and a switching unit(105) for cutting off power supplied through the lock brake switch to the magnetic valve according to the signal output from the engine control unit. The switching unit is the relay.
