<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for surely confirming a wheel lifting condition from a road surface using sensors that can be utilized in a vehicle control system in order to control the overturn of a vehicle having wheels. <P>SOLUTION: This control system (18) for a vehicle (10) receives information from various sensors, includes a first rolling condition detector (64A), a second rolling condition detector (64B), a third rolling condition detector (64C) and a rolling stability controller (26) in which these detectors (64A to 64C) determine the wheel lifting condition in response to the generated rolling condition, and operates a safety device (44) on its output. Other rolling condition detector can be used for determining the wheel lifting condition. Setting this system enables effective determination of the wheel lifting condition, thus achieving adequate braking and steering avoidance movement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
