<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label production method for surely producing a label in accordance with production specifications. <P>SOLUTION: Production specifications 1, stencil 2, a printing plate 3 and a trimming die 4 are attached with bar codes I, II, III and IV, respectively, and controlled separately. For label production, tags 6 are prepared in which bar codes I', II', III' and IV' are attached to the specifications 1, the stencil 2, the printing plate 3 and the cutting die 4, respectively, which are to be used for the label production. The bar codes I, II, III and IV of the specifications 1, the stencil 2, the printing plate 3 and the trimming die 4 that are selected based on the data of order received are collated with the corresponding bar codes I', II', III' and IV' attached to the tags 6 and then, after selection errors are checked, the labels are produced.
