HAND-OFF CONTROL METHOD AND EQUIPMENT IN PORTABLE TERMINAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand-off control method and hand-off control equipment by which quick hand-off is executed when communication quality is decreased under a strong electrical field.

SOLUTION: The hand-off control method comprises: an environment evaluation procedure for evaluating the communication quality expected in a communication environment around a portable terminal based on a signal received from a base station under communication and other near base station by a transmission and reception means; a detection procedure for detecting the generation of the decreased quality under the strong electrical field based on an evaluation result obtained in the environment evaluation procedure; a correction procedure for correcting a value to be an index for determining whether hand-off should be exercised or not when the generation of the decreased quality under the strong electrical field is detected; a determination procedure for determining whether or not the hand-off should be executed based on the corrected index; a request procedure for transmitting hand-off request to the base station under the communication in accordance with the determination result; and a report procedure for periodically transmitting quality information including the index corrected in the correction procedure to the base station.
