An ATM advertising system includes an ATM machine and an ATM dedicated data line. The ATM machine receives data sent at a first frequency through the ATM dedicated data line. An advertising computer is provided with an operating system and advertising screen which operate independently from the ATM machine. The advertising screen is positioned in the vicinity of the ATM machine. The advertising computer may also receives data through the ATM dedicated data line. However, the advertising computer receives data at a second frequency through the ATM dedicated data line, such that data communication is provided for the advertising computer without interrupting ATM transactions or compromising ATM security.
