<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device for an image forming device in which a blade contacts again in a clean spot, and the reset speed of contacting pressure is faster than the release speed. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming device has an image carrying body 2, a cleaning blade 3 and a mechanism to change the contact pressure of the blade 3. At the time when a normal motion ends or starts, the image carrying body stops after at least one reverse motion, and when the image carrying body 2 is at least stopped, the contact pressure is set lower than the contact pressure of a normal motion. The region which is further downstream than the blade 3 on the image carrying body 2 at the starting time of a reverse motion, and further upstream than a development part 2A is a C region, the periphery position on the image carrying body 2 which the blade contacts at the time when the pressure is started to be lowered by the reverse motion is X1, and the periphery position on the image carrying body 2 which the blade 3 contacts at the time when the contact pressure is reset by a normal motion is X2.
