<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system whereby the possibility of performing authentication in the unauthorized use of a key is lowered than ever before. <P>SOLUTION: This authentication system is equipped with: the key 310 with a memory 312 for storing identification information 312a for the authentication and identification information 312b for registration; an authentication device for performing the authentication according to the identification information 312a which is stored by the memory 312; and a registration device 410 with an information registration part 413 for the authentication, which registers the identification information 312a in the memory 312. The registration device 410 has an authentication part 412 for the registration, which performs the authentication according to the identification information 312b which is stored by the memory 312 so as to register the identification information 312a in the memory 312.
