<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye-sensitized photoelectric conversion element that can be manufactured inexpensively and is excellent in photoelectric conversion efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The solar cell 1 shown in the Fig. is what is called a dry solar cell requiring no electrolytic solution. The cell 1 has a first electrode 3, a second electrode 6 facing the electrode 3, and an electron transporting layer 4 positioned between the electrodes 3 and 6. The cell 1 also has a dye layer D which is in contact with the layer 4, and an electron hole transporting layer 5 which is positioned between the layer 4 and the second electrode 6 and is in contact with the layer D. The electrodes 3 and 6 and the layers 4, D, and 5 are installed on a substrate 2. The electron transporting layer 4 contains a substance which suppresses the reverse movement of electrons excited from a dye. The material contained in the layer 4 has the bottom-end potential of its conduction band on a valence band side rather than the bottom-end potential of the conduction band of the layer 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
