<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a light receiving part of a bar code reader in an optical axis direction approximately to half the size of a conventional part. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of mirrors 4 and 5 mounted around a light receiving sensor 3 comprise a plane, concave or convex mirror. The mounting angle of the plurality of mirrors is adjusted so that reflected light from mirror surfaces is less incident on the light receiving sensor 3 when a distance between a bar code label surface 2 and the light receiving sensor 3 is short and that a large quantity of light is reflected toward the light receiving sensor 3 when the distance is long. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
