The device for firmly lashing timber on a lorry and trailer contains a strap which on one side of the lorry is wound onto a drum and on the other side with an end provided with a chain can be firmly secured in a hook. A stop hook for the drum is movable from a position locking the drum in the outwardly drawn position to a drawn out position releasing the drum through a tractive movement for the free end of the strap provided with a chain.
