<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new alkaline protease for detergents having a higher molecular weight and lower homology than those of a conventional alkaline protease for the detergents in an amino acid sequence, and to provide a gene encoding the alkaline protease. <P>SOLUTION: A protein of the following (a) or (b) is provided: (a) a protein composed of a specific amino acid sequence; and (b) a protein composed of an amino acid sequence in which one or two or more amino acid sequences are deleted, substituted or added in each amino acid sequence of (a) and having an alkaline protease activity or a protein having ≥80% homology to the specific amino acid sequence and the alkaline protease activity; and further, the gene encoding the protein. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
