The system consists of a balanced rocking support (5) with weights (7) that can slide along it and apply pressure to a liquid, forcing it from the bottom of the support to the top through a tube (8) as the weights fall. As a result the mass of the upper weight exceeds that of the lower one and the support rocks, with its motion converted into a continuous rotatiion by a ratchet mechanism.
