PURPOSE: A flat display device is provided to reduce manufacturing costs and manufacturing procedures, while achieving improved surface hardness by forming films through a liquid coating method. CONSTITUTION: A flat display device(2) comprises a flat display panel(4) including a front substrate(14) and a rear substrate(16) which are opposed each other so as to form a vacuum container; and a filter(6A) disposed in the side where images of the flat display panel are displayed, so as to reinforce characteristics of images. The filter includes a transparent base plate; a transmissivity adjustment film formed on the surface of the base plate through a liquid coating method; and a light reflection prevention film formed on the surface of the transmissivity adjustment film, and which has a convex-concave surface.
