<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a person who experience this video compositinig apparatus to easily designate an area in which an image is not desired to be superimposed and displayed in the video compositing apparatus and method to superimpose and display the image of CG (computer graphics), etc. on a video image in the real world or on a see-through type display device. <P>SOLUTION: When the person who experience the apparatus holds, for example, a frame with a marker in his/her sight by hand, the frame is photographed in the video image (a) in which the real world is imaged.
