<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CDMA type portable telephone which can properly establish a positional registration or a communication such as the transmission and the reception of a voice and data at the time of closing power supply time or at the time of moving out of a communication range to the communication range, even when a difference exists in the gains of a transmitting band and a receiving band in an antenna. <P>SOLUTION: When the transmission level of a transmission signal is decided in response to the level of the signal received from a base station, a gain difference is calculated from the gain of the transmitting frequency and the gain of the frequency of the receiving signal according to a gain information table 100, the transmitting level decided in response to the level of the receiving signal is corrected by using the corrected transmitting level, and the signal is transmitted at the corrected transmitting level.
