<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distribution system which displays a proper image at the time of reproducing contents. <P>SOLUTION: A data server 3 reads objective contents (musical piece data) from a contents management DB in response to a distribution request, and distributes the data to AV equipment 1 (S22, S23). The contents to be distributed are added with image data (a plurality of figure images and one background image). The AV equipment 1 stores the contents with the image data in a hard disk (S13) added. Then, when the reproduction of the contents is instructed (S14), an image for display where a background image is synthesized with successively selected one figure image is generated and displayed (S16). Also, the AV equipment 1 successively reproduces the musical piece data of the contents (S17) in parallel with this.
