An envelope is disclosed. The envelope includes a first or front panel that has an envelope flap. The envelope further includes a second or rear panel that is opposed to the front panel. The rear panel has a removable flap that is opposed to and cove rs a surface of the envelope flap. The envelope still further includes a pressure-sensiti ve adhesive on the surface of the envelope flap that is opposed to the removable portion. T he envelope yet further includes barrier material that has low adhesion to the pressure- sensitive adhesive. The barrier material is on the removable portion of the rear panel and is opposed to the pressure-sensitive adhesive.
