PURPOSE: An automatic gas rice cooker having steamed dish function and a method using the same are provided to effectively cook rice and to steam fish, eggs and potatoes. CONSTITUTION: An automatic gas rice cooker having steamed dish function is composed of an AC input unit(10) receiving alternating current, a rectifying/filtering unit(11) for rectifying/filtering alternating current, a temperature sensor(2), an ignition sensor(3), a microcomputer(1) for controlling a rice cooking process and a steaming process, a proportional control unit(4), a buzzer driving unit(5) for driving a buzzer according to a control signal of the microcomputer, display units(61,62), a switch unit(64), and an LED unit(63). The display unit displays temperature, setting temperature, setting time, and steaming time.
