<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize smooth traveling respecting intention of an operator in turning a vehicle to left or right. <P>SOLUTION: An automatic stop and start control device for an engine capable of automatically stopping and starting the engine without ignition key operation is provided with a control means which prohibits automatic stop in automatically stopping the engine without ignition key operation if at least a direction indicator of the vehicle is turned on, immediately automatically starts the engine without ignition key operation if the direction indicator is turned on after the engine is automatically stopped without ignition key operation, and prohibits automatic stop of the engine until travel distance of the vehicle after automatic start becomes an established after start prohibition distance value or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
