PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY FOR THE TREATMENT OF PROSTATIC CONDITIONS

The present invention relates to a photodynamic method of treating non- cancerous prostatic disorders such as BPH. The method comprises: (i) delivering photosensitizer directly into prostatic tissue of a patient suffering from or suspected of suffering from a benign prostatic hyperplasia; and (ii) irradiating the prostatic tissue with a light at a wavelength appropriate to activate the photosensitizer.
