摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost and compact fuel reformation system capable of efficient generation of reformed gas containing CO and H2. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel reformation system FRS reforms a mixture of gasoline and air to generate reformed gas containing CO and H2, and supplies the reformed gas to an engine 1. The system has a reformation unit 20 having a reformation reaction part 23 including catalyst for reforming the mixture, and a reformed gas distribution chamber 24 for supplying the reformed gas generated in the reformation reaction part 23 to a combustion chamber 3 of the engine 1. At least the reformation reaction part 23 and the reformed gas distribution chamber 24 of the reformation unit 20 are surrounded by an outer wall of a surge tank 8, which is a component of induction system of the engine 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
