PURPOSE: Provided is an aluminum alloy with excellent decorativeness, which has the strength, hardness, and other such mechanical properties required by the intended application, and which also has excellent metallic gloss. CONSTITUTION: The aluminum alloy has a composition represented by the general formula AlaMgbMncCrd, wherein b, c, and d are, in mass percentage, 3.0<=b<=5.6, 0.05<=c<=1.0, 0.05<=d<=0.7, c+d>0.2, and a is the balance with unavoidable impurity elements possibly being contained, wherein a matrix of the aluminum alloy is a structure substantially composed of an aluminum solid solution, in which no β-phase is present, wherein b, c, and d are, in mass percentage, 4.3<=b<=5.2, 0.05<=c<=0.7, 0.05<=d<=0.5, and c+d>0.2, wherein the alloy is used for at least one slide fastener constituent member(7) selected from the group consisting of elements(3), stoppers(4,5), a pull tab, and a slider(6), and wherein the alloy is used for at least one selected from the group consisting of snap buttons, ordinary buttons, and clasps.
