PURPOSE: A composition including an extract of Ganoderma applanata.(Pers. Wallr) pat. exhibiting antivirus activity as an effective ingredient is provided. It can be used as a drug and health supplementary food for prevention and treatment of viral disease. CONSTITUTION: The composition for prevention and treatment of viral disease contains 0.1 to 80% by weight of an extract of Ganoderma applanata.(Pers. Wallr) pat., additionally carriers, excipients or diluents, base on the total weight of the composition. The extract of Ganoderma applanata.(Pers. Wallr) pat. is prepared by extracting Ganoderma applanata.(Pers. Wallr) pat. in water, C1-4 lower alcohol or a mixture thereof. The virus is enteric virus, VSV virus, HBV virus or HIV virus.
