PURPOSE: A method for measuring a printing speed of an image forming apparatus is provided to measure the printing speed by a test program installed in the image forming apparatus using an interface between a host computer and the image forming apparatus. CONSTITUTION: The first test program for measuring a printing speed, installed in a host computer, is executed(S301). The second test program for measuring a printing speed, installed in an image forming apparatus, is executed based on the first test program(S302). A test printing command is input to the executed first test program(S304). Test printing is carried out under the control of the second test program based on the input test printing command(S305). Test printing measurement time is measured based on the test printing and uploaded to the host computer(S306,S310).
