A metallocene compound having the formula (I):whereM<1 >is a metal of group IVb, Vb or VIb of the Periodic Table of Elements,two or more adjacent radicals R<4 >to R<12 >together with the atoms connecting them form one or more aromatic or aliphatic rings andif R<5>, R<6>, and R<7 >are hydrogen, R<9 >and R<11 >are identical or different and are a C1-C4 alkyl group, a C1-C6 alkeryl group, or a C6-C10 aryl group.
