<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt fixing device constituted so that the driving torque of a pressure roller can be reduced at the time of warming-up. <P>SOLUTION: The belt fixing device 10 is provided with an endless sheet-like fixing belt 12 which is stretched to be laid between a heat roller 14 and a nip forming member 20 fixedly arranged so as not to be rotated, and whose inner surface is coated with lubricant such as grease and oil, a rotary-driven pressure roller 50 which is brought into contact with the nip forming member 20 across the fixing belt 12 and which has a contact part with the fixing belt 12 functioning as a fixation nip 40, a thermistor 18 for detecting the temperature of the heat roller 14, and a control part 30 for controlling the driving velocity of the pressure roller 50 in accordance with the temperature detected by the thermistor 18. And, the driving velocity of the pressure roller 50 is controlled by the control part 30 so that it may become quick speed as the temperature detected by the thermistor 18 becomes higher at the time of warming-up. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
