<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, when a person who verifies (recipient) acknowledges only existence of an electronic signature file and tries to receive or verify a proper electronic signature file, the person has no means for obtaining the proper electronic signature file. <P>SOLUTION: A means for storing electronic signature files 66 stores an electronic document with an electronic signature, which is associated with a document ID to specify the electronic document, as an electronic signature file. A means for requesting an electronic signature file 57 transmits information on a request for the electronic signature file with the document ID to a first computer. A means for verifying signatures 47 verifies the electronic signature in the information on the request for the electronic signature file with the electronic signature.
