The line (14) has a connection end that is coupled to a heat engine and an exhaust end that liberates exhaust gas into atmosphere. An exhaust gas treatment device (20) and an exhaust silencer provided between the two ends are coupled by a metallic insert (24). The insert has a medial rectilinear section placed between two rectilinear sections (42, 44) and coupled to the sections by two curved sections. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a process of fabrication of an exhaust line for a heat engine e.g. diesel engine and petrol engine; and (b) a utilization for improving the mechanical resistance of the curved section of the exhaust insert.
