<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably carry out image output of a high image quality by appropriately setting a laser exposure amount by an electrophotographic process, and thereby preventing a density/shape of images from being uneven. <P>SOLUTION: At an image development part 1210, image data is developed by higher resolution than practical resolution of an output device. At a resolution conversion part 1211, the resolution of the developed high resolution data is converted to the practical resolution of the output device. At an exposure amount setting part 1217, a reference pattern is outputted and its density is measured by a density sensor 1206. A laser exposure amount correction table is formed on the basis of the measured result so that a density of predetermined image data after converted in the resolution becomes equal before and after image formation.
