PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption and to improve productivity when saddle stitching is performed, and to align sheets when saddle stitching is not performed.
SOLUTION: After image data inputted is once stored in a memory device 23 of a copying apparatus 1, the image is formed on sheets in a designated number of copies in the image forming section of the main unit 2. A plurality of sheets after the image is formed thereon are aligned on a stack tray 15 and successively stacked into bundles of a plurality of sheets. Each bundle of the sheets stacked is stapled by a saddle stitching stapler 13, then folded and ejected to a paper ejection tray 18 for saddle stitched copies. In this process, when the total number of ejected sheets of the image data stored in a memory device 23 exceeds the number of sheets that can be stapled by the saddle stitching stapler 13, the sheets with the image formed thereon are ejected from the first copy to one of trays 16, 17 installed except for the tray 18. This reduces the process time when stapling is impossible, and increases the productivity.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
