<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a multiple type press for tofu production, with which overheating of ground soybean slurry is controlled and soybean milk having a small amount of an insoluble material such as soybean husk, etc., passing through the screen of the press is produced. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for controlling the multiple type press for tofu production, a level sensor attached to a balance tank 1 is effective for only a low level. When the level sensor is in contact with the ground soybean slurry, a signal of "balance tank Lo" is outputted. When the level sensor is not contact with the ground soybean slurry, the ground soybean slurry is in the "balance tank Lo or below" on a sequence and a signal is not outputted.
