<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission device capable of easily giving identification numbers from one device to a plurality of other devices via an optical splitter. <P>SOLUTION: This optical transmission device comprises a master device 1 and a plurality of slave devices 2-4. An optical signal transmitted from the master device 1 is split by the optical splitter 55 and received by the plurality of slave devices 2-4. On the other hand, optical signals transmitted from the plurality of slave devices 2-4 are combined by an optical combiner 65 and received by the master device 1. Power supply units 20, 30, 40 corresponding to respective slave devices 2-4 are provided for the slave devices to be used when different identification numbers are given from the master device to the plurality of slave devices 2-4, so that they can individually be turned on or off by the signal from e.g. the master device 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
