<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device capable of properly protecting an occupant according to the state of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: This occupant protection device 1 is mounted on the vehicle provided with a curtain airbag 10, etc. The device 1 is provided with an angular velocity sensor 2 for detecting angular velocity of a side surface rotating direction of the vehicle, a state detecting part 3 for detecting the state of the vehicle, a control part 5 for setting a parameter corresponding to a danger generated in the occupant based on the detected angular velocity and controlling a side surface protection means to operate when the set parameter exceeds a prescribed operation reference value, and a main adjusting part 7 for adjusting the operation reference value according to the state of the vehicle detected by the state detecting part 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
