<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method for improving the reliability of communication between a computer and a non-contact tag. <P>SOLUTION: In this communication method and system, the ID tag 3 generates an error check code on the basis of transmission data, and transmits the error check code and the transmission data to a reader/writer 2. The reader/writer 2 receives the error check code and the transmission data. In time of open setting, the reader/writer 2 transmits the error check code and the transmission data to the computer 1. In time of closing setting, the reader/writer 2 executes an error check on the basis of the error check code and the transmission data, and transmits the transmission data and an error check result to the computer 1. The computer 1 receives the error check code and the transmission data in the time of the open setting, and receives the error check result in the time of the closing setting. In the time of the open setting, the computer 1 executes the error check on the basis of the error check code and the transmission data.
