PURPOSE: A device for detecting the position of a vehicle seat using an ultrasonic sensor is provided to stabilize the structure and to improve the durability by separately installing a transmitting unit and a receiving unit of an ultrasonic sensor in a seat unit and an instrument panel. CONSTITUTION: A device for detecting the position of a vehicle seat(100) using an ultrasonic sensor comprises an ultrasonic transmitting unit(300) fixed on one face of a seat cushion frame(115) and transmitting a specific ultrasonic pulse signal toward an instrument panel(200) of a vehicle, an ultrasonic receiving unit(400) fixed on the instrument panel to face the ultrasonic transmitting unit and receiving the ultrasonic pulse signal transmitted from the ultrasonic transmitting unit, and a control unit(500) detecting the position of the seat by measuring the distance based on the arrival time of the ultrasonic pulse signal provided from the ultrasonic receiving unit.
