FIELD: polymer production. ^ SUBSTANCE: catalyst is prepared by (i) providing magnesium compound solution via reaction of magnesium compound with aluminum or boron compound in alcohol; (ii) interaction of resulting solution with an ester containing at least one hydroxy group and an alkoxy group-containing silicon compound; and (iii) addition of mixture of titanium and silicon compounds to solution (ii) to give solid titanium catalyst. ^ EFFECT: achieved excellent catalytic activity allowing production of superhigh-molecular weight polyethylene with high volume density and narrow particle size distribution free of two coarse and two fine particles. ^ 14 cl, 1 tbl, 12 ex |
